I remember once, she tried to convince me that the grocery store was deliberately stocking the aisles in a certain way to manipulate our buying habits. I mean, logically, sure, there’s psychology involved, but the whole thing sounded ridiculous until I actually started paying attention, looking at the layout, how the expensive stuff was at eye level. Suddenly, her words had a grain of validity. This made me think. What else was I not seeing?
